The TSA Port Columbus Chapter 319 has 110 of Port 240 transportation security officerssigneds on, said Dina Long, a spokeswomam for the Washington, D.C.-based organization. The unioh said it is actively organizin g at other major airportsw in Ohio and arounethe country. The Columbus union becomese part of a network of chapter sin Florida, Texas, New York, California and Pennsylvania, the organizatiob said. President Colleen Kelley said in a release that priorit y issues for the uniojn include problemswith pay, shift scheduling and othefr civil service issues.
Those she said, are part of a largedr plan for the TSA work force that includez a call for full whistleblowed protections and revisions tothe administration’d training and certification system. The union calls itselfd the largest independentfederalk union, representing employees in 31 agenciess and departments nationwide.

“Our water supplies are flush,” Carol Couch, director of the , told members of the state’sz Drought Management Advisory Committee. “Our rivers and streamd have rebounded.” The state imposed Levelo 4 drought restrictions in Septembefr 2007 as one of the worst droughts in Georgiashistory deepened, sending water levels at the state’xs federally managed reservoirs plummeting.
